On Mother’s Day

Dear Mama,

I see you.

New-Mama, Seasoned-Mama.

Expecting-Mama, One-Day-Hopeful-Mama.

Grieving-Mama, Blissful-Mama.

Hanging-on-for-dear-life-Mama.

I see you all.

I see you struggling not to make too many requests on this day.

I see you holding on to some secret longings that would truly serve you, but maybe not speaking them aloud.

I see you wanting to honor the other Mothers in your life and missing those no longer with you.

I see you wanting to be the best version of you on this day meant to celebrate your tremendous role as Mother and in Motherhood.

I see you, amidst the moments of celebration, still being needed so very much.

One hand out for holding, for picking up, for securing and adjusting. One hand out for wiping and stroking, for consoling, for making it just right.

I see you feeling it all. Taking it in with sweeping exhales and laughter, with moments of joy and searing intensity at the magnitude of it all.

I see the expectations. The memories passed and the memories being made.

But most of all, I see you. I see the beautiful you that shows up each and every day with those loving hands and nurturing arms to nourish and provide. I see you.

So, on this Mother’s Day, may you see you too.

ļ»æAnd, may you honor yourself–wherever you are on this journey knowing that support can and will always be found at Bodies for BirthĀ®.
