Prenatal Express

A  safe and supportive space for your journey to motherhood (and beyond). A prenatal practice may help you relieve pregnancy aches and pains, prepare for birth and connect with local moms-to-be. Along with performing postures modified for the needs of your body, you’ll cultivate a breathing practice, develop stamina and strength and improve balance and circulation.  Appropriate for all levels of fitness and stages of pregnancy.  You’re welcome to join us in preconception and postpartum too!

Yoga for Mamas

Yoga for Mamas

This series is about gaining strength and reducing stress.  Through a blend of Hatha and Vinyasa, we will focus on mindful movement, developing a personal breathing practice, and learning to customize your practice for your body.

Each class will leave you better equipped to navigate the joys and challenges of life with balance and ease.  Appropriate for all stages of preconception, pregnancy and following clearance from provider in postpartum.

Emily Hawkins

Emily teaches “Yoga for Mamas” at Bodies for Birth.  Emily  was raised by a yoga teacher, but the challenges of postpartum and motherhood are what ultimately drew her to deepen her practice.  Her own experience of yoga as a source of healing inspired her to become a yoga teacher herself.

She believes in yoga’s power to bring more mindfulness and joy into daily life, allowing people to live with more presence and clarity. She hopes you will leave her classes feeling empowered and uplifted. In addition to her yoga training through Richmond Beach Yoga, Emily is trained as a prenatal and postnatal corrective exercise specialist (PPCES) through Fit For Birth. When she’s not on the yoga mat, she’s soaking up quality time with her family and cat — or playing with paint and knitting needles.
